This parade is a huge event that continues to provide a magical experience for the whole community. Hosted each year by the Newtown Business Association, it is a great opportunity for local business to get involved and for families to line the streets to watch a spectacular event. Last year over 50 groups participated, totaling over 1800 people.
NBA is collecting donations of non perishable food for the Bucks County Food Bank from now until December 10th. Bring donations to the Holiday Parade; look for the gold boxes marked NBA Food Drive along the parade route.
There will also be boxes for Toys For Tots along the parade route.
Come out and find a comfy spot to watch this amazing event on Sunday, December 6th, 2015. The parade promptly kicks off at 2PM from South State Street at the Stocking Works. It then continues north to Washington Avenue and makes a left turn, then turns right onto Sycamore Street. The Parade eventually ends at the corner of Sycamore Street and Durham Road.
The McCaffrey’s Food Market's Newtown Holiday Parade will surely be an exciting event because all participants are required to be creative and showcase a festive holiday theme. Each group will be judged by a hand picked panel that reviews every participant, based on their presentation, creativity and theme, to decide the best in each category. The parade award categories to be judged are as follows: Best Theme-Float (F), Best Theme-Walking Group (WG), Best Decorated (F), Most Creative (F), Most Creative (WG) Best Small Group, Best Musical Group, Crowd Favorite, Best Spirit, and Best Overall. All winners will receive a certificate of recognition and will be announced shortly after the parade ends and posted on the Newtown Business Association's Facebook page.
